This notice explains how Briefd handles the personal information you provide when you join the waitlist or use invited access.

What we collect
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- your name;
- your LBS email address;
- your course name;
- your waitlist or access status;
- technical timestamps such as when you signed up or were approved.
If you are approved for invited access, we may also process temporary one-time passcode records so you can sign in securely.
For approved private beta users, we may also collect product analytics and session replay information, including page views, clicks or taps, dashboard interactions, browser/device details, technical logs, and reconstructed session recordings.
Why we use it
We use this information to:
- manage the Briefd waitlist;
- contact you about your waitlist status and access;
- verify invited users through their LBS email address;
- operate and improve the beta product;
- understand where approved testers get confused, which dashboard areas are useful, and which flows need fixing.
Our lawful basis
For the waitlist and invited-access process, our lawful basis is legitimate interests: operating a limited beta waitlist and access process for people who request access.
For private beta product analytics and session replay, we rely on the acknowledgement you provide when joining the waitlist and only enable this for approved testers using invited access.
We will not use your waitlist details for unrelated marketing unless we have a separate lawful basis to do so.
Where the data is stored and shared
Briefd is hosted on DigitalOcean. We use SendGrid to send waitlist confirmation and sign-in emails. These providers process data only as needed to host the service and deliver emails.
We may use Microsoft Clarity to understand approved tester behaviour through analytics and session replay.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist data for as long as needed to manage access to the beta and operate Briefd. You can ask us to delete your waitlist record at any time.
One-time passcode records are temporary and are used only for sign-in verification.
Your rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the use of your personal data.

Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect waitlist data, including HTTPS, restricted admin access, and keeping secrets and user records out of public code repositories.
No online service is completely risk-free, so we keep the data we collect limited to what is needed to run the waitlist and access flow.
